REQUIREMENTS TO RENEW A LICENSE TO PRACTICE AS A BARBER AND STYLIST BARBER

 

 

  • Complete the License Application, answering all the questions and providing all the required documents.

  • Every license must be renewed thirty (30) days before its expiration. The renewal period es for three (3) years in accordance with Law #274 of the 12th of September of 2003. Late renwals will affect the effective period of those three (3) years. The renewal period will only be effective for the amount of time remaining past the initial three years of the renewal date, in the event that these licenses are not revoked by the Board.

  • Every license that is not renewed for the three (3) year term by the original licenses' expiration date will pay a fine of $10.00 per each year that elapses, in accordance with aw #274 of the 12th of September of 2003 which amended Law #146 of the 27th of June 1968. After 10 years of having been expired, the license will be cancelled by the Board during a meeting. The person requesting a renewal of this nature will need to request a meeting with the board, and the letter requesting the meeting must contain: License number, postal address and telephone number.

  • The name on the application must be the same name as the name on the license you are currently using.

  • Upload an original copy of a Public Health Certificate or a Health Certificate from a private physician. Public Health certificates must carry the seal in colors of the Department of Health.

  • Upload a recent passport type digital photo (not taken more than six months before) scanned in color with a dark background. Photos with a white background are not acceptable..

  • Upload a certificate from the College of Barbers which declares that you are an active member in good standing.

  • Payment in the amount of $25.00.

  • Upload to PCS a copy of an original Certificate of No Penal Record issued by the Puerto Rico Department, no more than six months prior.

  • Upload a copy of a negative outstanding debt certificate of no more than 90 days of having been issued by the Child Support Administration, pursuant to Article 30 of Act No. 86 of August 17, 1994. Please submit certificate of updated payment plan in case there is any outstanding debt.

  • Upload copy of the Certificate to be renewed.

  • Upload to the portal a digital color copy of the Negative Certification of Law 300 of the year 1999. It must be less than one year oldApplies to any application filed as of July 1, 2022.

  • License will be valid for three years.

 


BARBER STYLISTS

 

  • All the above requirements.

  • Upload a copy of your stylist Certificate and a copy of your Barber Certificate. The Barber Certificate must be current.

  • Upload copy of the Barber Certificate. This certificate must current.
