VERMONT APPLICATION PROCESS
Please follow steps below to properly apply with Professional Credential Services.
1. Complete Online Application.

If you have taken and failed an examination within the last year, contact PCS at 1-888-822-3272 and ask to speak with the Vermont coordinator.
THE PROCESS
2. Submit the following eligibility documents to Professional Credential Services.
A - Proof of High School Education - Copy of High School Diploma or G.E.D. If submitting a High School transcript, this must be mailed directly from the school or if mailed by the candidate, the transcript must be in a separately sealed envelope from the school. If the school cannot locate the transcript, a letter from the school will be acceptable but must be mailed directly from the school to PCS.
B - Proof of Training - A school Verification Affidavit documenting completion of of the required schooling hours must be completed and sent to PCS.
C - Passport Type Photo - A clear head and shoulder shot must be submitted to PCS. *This may be sent via e-mail.
3. Approval for examinations.
- Theory Examination: Candidate will receive an Authorization To Test (ATT) Letter via e-mail within 2 business days of application approval.
- Practical Examination: Candidate will receive an Admission Notice 10 business days prior to their requested examination date.
In order for a candidate to receive their requested practical examination date, the candidate must apply and submit all required eligibility documentation to PCS by the examination deadline or the candidate will receive the next available examination date.
4. Score Information e-mailed to candidate.
- Theory Score: An unofficial score report will be distributed on-site. An official score report will be e-mailed to the candidate by PCS within 10 business days of the examination date.
- Practical Score: An official score report will be e-mailed to the candidate 10 business days after the examination date.
5. License Information
- The Vermont Board office issues license to candidates who pass all required examinations. It is not necessary to contact the Board Office as they are provided examination scores on a daily basis.
