THE PROCESS

1. Apply with the Alabama Board of Cosmetology for eligibility review

2. Board notifies candidate of approval to take the practical examination

3. Candidate calls PCS to schedule practical examination in one of the following areas:

Practical examination(s) must be scheduled by calling PCS toll free at 1-888-822-3272.

4. PCS mails admission notice to candidate 7-10 business days prior to examination

If candidate has not received Admission Notice within stated time frame, contact PCS at 1-888-822-3272.

5. Candidate takes the practical examination

6. Candidate will receive score notice from the Board

7. Successful examinees will receive license payment instructions with score notice

8. Unsuccessful candidates will receive re-examination instructions with score notice
