FIRST-TIME CANDIDATE PROCEDURE
Step 1.
Read and understand the "Candidate Information Bulletin" and "The Law and Examination Qualifications."
Step 2.
Mail a completed Scheduling Form PA11 and fee (certified check or money order) to Professional Credential Services. It must be received by the first-time applicant deadline. Fees are not transferred to future examinations for any reason. No postponements. If you have any "yes" answers to question 12 on the Scheduling Form, documentation MUST be received by December 1st for the April exam and July 1st for the October exam. Failure to do so will cause you to be ineligible for the examination.
Reference Form (only candidates applying based on work experience)
If you cannot open the forms above, or do not have access to a printer, you may send an email to request a scheduling information packet (please be sure to state if you will be applying based on education or work experience) be mailed to you.
Step 3.
Concurrently send supporting documents, such as education/experience qualifications or certified court documents. If the applicable documents are not received by the specified deadlines, you will be ineligible to sit for the exam.
If you have graduated: Request an original transcript to be mailed DIRECTLY from the college/university to PCS. The transcript must show the curriculum and date your degree was conferred. Transcripts will not be accepted if sent by the student, even if it is in a sealed envelope. These transcripts are marked "Issued to Student" and will therefore not be accepted.
If you are a college Junior or Senior:
A "Report of Student Status" form must be completed by you and the university registrar.
If you are applying based on work experience:
A completed "Amplified Record" and five "Reference Forms" must be received by December 1 for the April examination or July 1 for the October examination. PCS must receive the Reference Forms directly from the references.
If you are applying based on a foreign degree:
Effective June 2, 2009, the Pennsylvania Board will no longer view or accept programs under the Washington Accord as being "substantially equivalent" to a degree from an EAC/ABET accredited program. An evaluation conducted by NCEES is required to apply for examination and/or licensure. NCEES must electronically transmit the evaluation to the Pennsylvania Board by July 1 for the October exam or December 1 for the April exam.
Step 4.
Create an account and register with NCEES by the NCEES registration deadline. You will select your exam and site information at this time. Please note you will not be able to change your exam type, discipline, module and/or exam site after the NCEES deadline.
Applicants prior to April 2000 examination: Applicants who last applied with LGR prior to our administration may require re-evaluation, and may be subject to the first-time application deadlines. E-mail [email protected] and note what qualifications you are applying based on.
RE-EXAM CANDIDATE PROCEDURE
All re-examinees are encouraged to download and read the "Candidate Information Bulletin" for updated information.
Step 1.
If you have not already done so, create an account with NCEES at www.ncees.org.
Step 2. Register with NCEES by the NCEES registration deadline. You will select your exam and site information at this time. Please note you will not be able to change your exam type, discipline, module and/or exam site after the NCEES deadline. Proceed to step 3.
Step 3.
If you last applied as a student of a 4-year ABET accredited program and are still a student, you must submit an updated "Report of Student Status" form. If you have since graduated, you must request an original transcript to be sent DIRECTLY from the college/university to PCS. It must show the curriculum and date your degree was conferred. Failure to provide the required qualification documentation by the NCEES registration deadline will cause you to be ineligible for the examination. Proceed to step 4.
PLEASE NOTE: If PCS has already received a final transcript from your college/university to meet the qualifications for the FE exam, another transcript does not need to be sent.
Step 4.
Within one business day of registering with NCEES, you will receive an email from PCS allowing you to schedule and pay. Schedule and pay the examination fee online by the PCS scheduling deadline with a Visa, Discover or MasterCard only. Fees are not transferred to future examinations for any reason. No postponements.
