A candidate must have a baccalaureate degree in science from an accredited US academic institution and completed an engineering program that is recognized by the Higher Education Council of Puerto Rico and by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Puerto Rico does not accept technology degrees. Candidates enrolled in the last term of a baccalaureate degree program may also apply.
Candidates who obtained their bachelor's degree from an institution outside of Puerto Rico or the U.S. must have their education evaluated by one of the Board approved foreign evaluation services. The two acceptable services are NCEES or Josef Silny Evaluations.
