Board applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. The Board does not guarantee entry into any examination date. First-time Professional Surveyor (PS) applicants who wish to sit for a particular examination date must submit their application and all supporting documentation directly to PCS by December 1st for the April examination and by June 1st for the October examination.
PCS will process applications, communicate any deficiencies to the applicant and submit completed applications to the Board for approval to sit for the examination. First-time applicants who are Board-approved will receive notification on how to schedule for the PS examination and the state specific examination from PCS.
Note: Comity is the principle by which one jurisdiction may accede or give effect to the laws or judgments of another Board. Massachusetts grants comity consideration only if the Board can determine that the licensee's primary jurisdiction licensed the applicant in compliance with Massachusetts' requirements.
Applicants may not schedule for the examination until approved by the Board. The normal processing time for first-time applications is six months after receipt of all required documentation.
You may schedule and pay for your exam during the follow dates:
June 15, 2012 - September 6, 2012 for the October 2012 exam
December 17, 2012 - February 21, 2013 for the April 2013 exam
